Bio: Canadian actress Neve Campbell famously always used to have a no nudity clause in her contracts, but since she's moved to focussing on more independent made films she's relaxed her stance and appeared nude on a few occasions now. Born in Guelph, Ontario, Neve originally wanted to be a ballet dancer. She started at age six, joined the National Ballet School Of Canada at age nine and studied there for the next five years, until a catalogue of injuries finally put pay to her dancing ambitions. Her name Neve (pronounced 'Nev') is her Dutch-born mother's maiden name, and stems from a long line of Sephardic Jew ancestors who emigrated to Holland in the 15th century. Neve herself was raised Catholic by her Scottish-born father, who teaches high school drama at Mississauga in Ontario. He mainly raised Neve and her brother after her parents divorced when she was just two. Her first acting role came at age 15 when she was cast as the Degas Girl in the Phantom Of The Opera at Toronto's Pantages Theater, which she performed over 800 times. Her TV break came as Daisy in the short-lived, youth Canadian TV show Catwalk alongside other rising Canadian actors like Chandra West and Nicole de Boer. Wider fame soon followed when she was cast as Julia Salinger in the US hit show Party Of Five, a role she kept from 1994 to 2000. Dubbed TV's most believable teenager, the movie offers came calling, but Party Of Five's heavy filming schedule meant Never had to reject most of them. But it didn't stop Neve becoming a household name after finding time to star in movies like The Craft, Wild Things and probably her most well-known roles as Sidney Prescot in the Scream franchise of movies, which will very soon be featuring Neve again for the fourth time in the series. Neve finally quit Party Of Five in 2001 to concentrate more on her movie career, and since then she has focussed predominatly on more arthouse productions. She indulged her love of ballet in The Company, a 2003 movie about Chicago's Joffrey Ballet which she also co-wrote and produced. For longtime Neve admirers, the decision also saw her bare all in the movies When Will I Be Loved and I Really Hate My Job. Now married to English actor John Light, whom she met on the set of Investigating Sex, Neve lives in London and has appeared on the West End stage in productions like Arthur Miller's Resurrection Blues and Love Song. A passionate animal advocate and environmentalist, Neve presented the UK leg of Live Earth at Wembley Stadium in 2007.
