Bio:  Canadian star Carrie-Anne Moss shot to worldwide fame as the latex-clad hacker heroine of The Matrix triology movies and hasn't looked back since. Parts came her way in critically-acclaimed movies like Chocolat and Memento, for which she won an Independent Spirit Award for her performance, as a result. Named by her mother Barbara after a 1967 hit by The Hollies, Carrie-Anne was was born in Burnaby, next door to Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada. Her parents divorced when she was a child and Carrie-Anne grew up living with her mother in Vancouver. She joined the Vancouver children's musical theatre at age 11 and later went on to tour Europe with the Magee Secondary School Choir in her senior year. Carrie-Anne enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena upon her return. In 1985, she left Vancouver for Toronto and became a model. Modelling took her to Japan and then Spain in the late 1980s. While in Spain, she landed a role in the TV series Dark Justice, her first television appearance, which was produced in Barcelona for its first series. She moved from Barcelona to Los Angeles, California with the series in 1992. Her big Hollywood breakthrough came just seven years later with the first Matrix movie.
